I was browsing pinterest awhile back and this 'DIY Thankful Tree' caught my eye. I pinned it for later use. I'm always on the look-out for ways that we, as a family, can participate together in concrete and simple ways of making it a habit to be thankful and thus fostering an attitude of gratitude. Big Sister is very excited with this 'Thankful Tree,' especially since she got to trace and cut out the leaves.
It's very simple and easy. All you need is a bunch of newspaper (or pebbles/rocks), a branch, a small pot, and construction paper for the leaves.

Each day Big Sister, Husband, and I pick one thing we are thankful for and we write it on a leaf. Then we glue it onto the branch using a glue-gun, or a gun-glue, like Big Sister likes to call it. We started today and today we are each thankful for family, our community, and Mrs. Bock (Big Sister's teacher).
Day 7 of Cultivating joy through 20 days of gratefulness.
