I'm on a roll with challenges lately. So when I came across this writing challenge from The Nester for the month of October, I was very intrigued. And now here I am, taking up the challenge of writing each day on the topic of cultivating joy through intentional gratefulness. But instead of 31 days, I will start with 20 days.
When I find myself easily slipping into an attitude of dissatisfaction and my words tend to comprise of whiny complaints I know it is because I've grown lazy in cultivating gratefulness. I read a blog recently (by a writer I greatly admire) on nurturing thankfulness in kids as a way to help them from becoming over-privileged, entitled and bored human beings. It inspired me to be more intentional with instilling an attitude of thankfulness in my own children.
And then I came across this insightful quote from a Benedictine monk:

Yes, it is indeed! And what is a better way to plant and grow the seed of gratitude in others, especially your kids, than to live it with them daily. So it is October 4th (I'm kind of late in the game) and this is Day 1. I will be posting a link for each day below once it is live. Join me and let's cultivate joy through thankfulness!
